Making a graphic novel means working in a very, very, very isolated bubble for months/years at a time– no one but your co-creators and your editor has read the book, and it’s easy to get in your head. Is it actually any good?? Nobody knows! Sending that PDF out for blurbs is a scary thing, and hearing back that they loved really does mean the world.
The whole thing makes me feel pretty emotional. I love comics and my comics peers are all so amazing.

I spent the weekend doing a casual 24hr comic day with a pile of friends... I didn't have a 24p comic in me this time, so I drew an ode to the ever loyal, true, stalwart hot water bottle. I love her so.

My last few minicomics were The Salt Lick Wife and The Vinegar Mother. This one will be The Pillow Princess. My matriarch zine trilogy. ✨
